During our district's scheduled Open House night, WCMS hosted a STEM night for students and parents/guardians. Both students and adults enjoyed the thirteen stations/activities that were set up and facilitated by WCMS teachers. Attendees solved toothpick puzzles, built molecules with DOTS candy, took the Cup Tower challenge, proved an inflated balloon could be pierced with a skewer, and so much more. These types of activities promote critical thinking skills that are vital to success in and out of the classroom. This event was made possible by the Georgia Youth Science and Technology Center (GYSTC) with some of the activities being sponsored by Siemens Company.
