Worth County Middle School honored veterans by hosting a luncheon on November 8, 2019.  This WCMS annual event honors men and women who are serving in our military and all military veterans who have dedicated their service to our country. The veterans and their family member students joined together in the WCMS Media Center.

The event started with a welcome from WCMS Principal, Tiffany Sevier followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by students Christopher Brickle and Javen Jackson. WCMS Chorus teacher, MaKinsey Rosser along with students Olivia Frankovich, Sadie Holt, and Dayanara Mendoza presented in song "This Land is Your Land."  Veterans were then recognized by 6th-grade teacher, Melissa Folsom and presented with a card of thanks and an American Flag pin.

Veteran and 7th-grade teacher, Heather Jackson introduced speaker MSgt. Michael Jackson. Mr. Jackson shared how 24 years of military service has impacted his life.  He then encouraged each veteran to share their branch of service, years served, and their pride for serving their country.  They each did so and also shared with students the importance of education and serving our country.

Ira Thomas, a military veteran and WCMS teacher, blessed the meal and students Sadie Holt, Olivia Frankovich, Dayanara Mendoza, Christopher Brickle, and Javen Jackson assisted in serving food and drinks.
