WCHS Senior, Luke Gwines, is State Winner at FFA Convention

Worth County FFA member Luke Gwines is the State winner in the Proficiency Award area of Fruit Production.  Luke was the South region winner and went on to compete in the State contest which was held at the State FFA Convention on April 25.  Luke’s Proficiency award was in the area of fruit production which includes pecan production.  Luke presented his pecan production project to a panel of judges and was faced with a session of intense questioning about his project and record keeping skills.  Luke also won the state award last year in the area of fiber and oil crop production.  Luke is a senior and is currently serving as FFA President at Worth County High School. Luke Gwines and Nick Deese were awarded their State FFA Degrees at the Convention Saturday.  Reese Hancock and Nick Deese represented the Worth High Chapter as official delegates. Way to go!
