WCMS Student Starts Fundraiser: Warm for Winter

Snowman ornament painted by WCMS student

WCMS 6th grader, Emma Watson, is changing her world one ornament at a time.  She has painted beautiful wooden snowman ornaments for family members this year as Christmas gifts and decided to use her God-given talent for a greater cause.  She recognized that many students at her school were in need of basic necessities.  She decided to turn her love of art into a fundraiser called Warm for Winter. Her Warm for Winter idea was to sell the painted ornaments to raise money to purchase jackets and shoes for kids her age.  After posting her idea to Facebook, she quickly surpassed her original goal of selling 50 ornaments.  Thanks to many who have purchased the ornaments for $10 each and several special donors who have given generously, her fundraiser has proven to be a huge success.  In a world that sometimes seems full of darkness and evil, Emma is letting her light shine for Him. What a great example of compassion for her fellow students.
