Thanksgiving Donation Drive

Worth County Schools Social Work intern Jacquelyn Gilliard, is having a Thanksgiving Donation Drive at Worth County Board of Education, where citizens of Worth County can donate items such as clothes, shoes, toys, canned goods, and school supplies, and families in need can pick up those donations. The Thanksgiving Donation Drive is scheduled for November 18, 2014 and November 20, 2014 from 9 am-12 pm or 1 pm-3 pm. On Nov. 18, 2014 citizens of Worth County had the opportunity to bring donations (i.e. clothes, shoes, canned goods, school supplies, and toys) to Worth County Board of Education. Families in need living in Worth County are able to pick up those donations Nov. 20, 2014. The purpose of the Thanksgiving Donation Drive is to assist families in need living in Worth County, and to help them have a great Thanksgiving holiday.   

Proposed Revisions to English Language Arts and Mathematics Standards

Proposed changes to ELA and mathematics Common Core Georgia Perfomance Standards have been posted by the Georgia Department of Education and are open to public review and comment from November 12, 2014 - January 10, 2015.

The WCMS 6th Grade Chorus under the direction of Lesli Holton performed a patriotic program for the Veteran's Day Breakfast at Worth County Primary School.  They performed a medley of patriotic pieces including "Yankee Doodle Dandee", "America", "My Country 'Tis of Thee", and "The Battle Hymn of the Republic". They concluded their performance with "God Bless the USA".

National Award given to Junior Beta Club

 The Worth County Middle School Junior Beta Club was recently named by the National Beta Club as a School of Distinction for the 2nd year in a row. This national award is given to club chapters who show an intense commitment to academic rigor and who illustrate a dedication to preparing students for college and career readiness. ABAC Choral Day!!!!!!

Worth County Choir Students from grades 8 thru 12 participated in the ABAC Choral Day on October 30!!!!  


The Monkey's Paw Play!!!!!

The WCHS Drama Club presented "The Monkey's Paw" play to our middle school gifted students.  A special thanks goes to Kelli Woodall, sponsor of the WCHS Drama Club, and Stacey Weaver, Gifted teacher, for working cooperatively to make this happen.

Saturday School Program!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We will be having our first Saturday School on October 4, 2014. Saturday School is a tutoring program that offers additional hours of tutoring for your child.  In addition to tutoring, attendance in Saturday School will help your child with any unexcused absence that they have on their student record. See attachment for all of the Saturday School dates at WCMS.  Please contact Mr. Donald Edwards for any questions or concerns regarding Saturday School.



It's time for Social Science projects at WCMS.  Every student will be required to complete a project on either a Social Studies topic or a Science topic.  The final projects are due on December 10th.
