Stainless steel tables, cafeteria tables and chairs, Kitchen Aid mixers, stoves, welders, grinders, plates, cups, and many more items to choose from!  Surplus items are being auctioned from the cafeteria, Food Science, Agriculture, Welding, and Automotive labs to make room for new equipment in the new WCHS. 

  • All bids will be placed silent-auction style with bidding cut-off at 1:00pm on June 28th
  • Winners will be contacted on Thursday June 28th and must claim their merchandise no later than 1:00 PM on Friday June 29th
  • Cash or Check only. 
  • All items sold as is—no refunds or exchanges. 
  • No deliveries—all winners are responsible for removing their own merchandise.

AD NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETINGS

The Worth County Board of Education will hold two public hearings to discuss the tentative budget for Fiscal Year 2019.  The first Public Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, May 17, 2018, at 6:30 pm and the second Public Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, June 21, 2018, at 6:30 pm.  Both hearings will be held at the Worth County Board of Education Boardroom located at 103 Eldridge Street, Sylvester, Georgia.  All interested parties are encouraged to attend.  Additionally, the tentative budget will be published, after the first Public Hearing, on the Worth County District’s website under the Business & Finance homepage http://www.worthschools.net/Content/36

Accuplacer The Accuplacer - There is an App for That!

There is now an app to help students begin studying for the Accuplacer which is the college entrance exam Worth Co. FFA Pine Shadows WCHS FFA Celebrates National FFA Week

WCHS FFA officers delivered Valentine’s Day goodies to the residents of Pine Shadows Retirement Community on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 as a way to celebrate National FFA Week.  They also visited with the residents and two of our very talented officers, Reese Hancock and Jakori Edwards, entertained them by singing and playing the piano. #RamPride

Newton and Layfield Two WCHS Seniors Receive All-State Award

WCHS Seniors and Lady Rams Softball players, Caroline Newton and Taylor Layfield, were awarded All-State Certificates by The Georgia Athletic Coaches Association.  Caroline was awarded the First Team All-State Pitcher of the Year for Class AAA an.  Taylor was awarded the First Team All-State Infielder of the Year for Class AAA.  Congratulations to both student-athletes!  We are very proud of your hard work and dedication.

At the monthly meeting, each school's Teacher of the Year was recognized and the WCSD Teacher of the Year was announced.  Congratulations Mrs. Langley from Worth County Primary School!

FBLA Region WCHS FBLA Students Attend Region Conference

Nine WCHS FBLA students attended the FBLA Region Conference at Southern Regional Technical College in Moultrie on Friday, January 12th.

The following students won awards and advance to the state competition in March:

Key CLub WCHS Key Club Attends Kiwanis Club Meeting

WCHS Key Club students attended the weekly Kiwanis Club meeting on Wednesday, December 6, 2017.  Students enjoyed a luncheon provided by the Kiwanis Club members.  WCHS Key Club President, Day Story, along with a few Kiwanis Club members addressed the attendees and expressed their excitement over the club’s reestablishment.  Worth County Schools Superintendent, Bill Settle, was also in attendance. 

Best Friends WCHS Students Donate to Best Friends Humane Society

WCHS Work-Based Learning (WBL) students collected pet-related items during the month of December.  Collected items will be presented during the WCHS Christmas Assembly on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 and donated to Best Friends Humane Society in Sylvester, GA.  Pictured are WCHS Seniors and WBL students, Abigail Daniel and Kasey Black.

WCMS Archery Program WCMS Offers New Archery Program

WCMS has a new archery program.  WCMS is one of the few schools in Georgia that has an archery program. Coach Mitch Mitchell and Mr. Jared Sherrard presented the details at the recent BOE meeting.

Renney WCHS Biology Students Make Blankets from Plastic Bags

Ms. Renney's Biology class applied their learning about reduce, reuse, and recycle to a community service project.  

 

Coach Carroll Worth County Schools Receive Spirit Award

New WCHS College and Career Academy Front View New Worth County High School College and Career Academy Construction is Moving Along

The construction of the new Worth County High School College and Career Academy is moving along on schedule.  It is set to open in August 2018.

Key CLub Worth County High School Key Club Recharters After 9 Years

The Key Club is partnered with our local Kiwanis Club. They are a civic organization with the mission to provide service, build character, and develop leadership. The WCHS Key Club has rechartered with fifteen current members. Day Leigh Story was elected to serve as the 2017-2018 President. Key club has been very busy since reorganization, supporting Ram Spirit and our leadership within our school and community. Service is a key component in Key Club. This Christmas season Key Club has partnered with Teresa Parkerson, the director of Hungry at Home. This organization will provide non-perishable foods for children at our schools. They have also joined in with our Chamber of Commerce for the Christmas Clearing House. All toys collected will be distributed throughout the county. The senior members have been very excited about the re-activation of the club and they are elated about embracing their civil duties. Key Club looks forward to the many new civic endeavors that will help benefit their community and school.

WCHS Senior and JROTC student, Dane Worley, signed with the Army on November 9, 2017.

WCMS choir at Hawks WCMS Choir Performs at Hawks Game

Sixty WCMS Chorus students performed for the Atlanta Hawks v. Boston Celtics pregame show on November 18th. The students also enjoyed watching the game after their performance. Congratulations on an awesome performance!

Kiwanis WCMS Students Speak at Kiwanis

Worth County Middle School (WCMS) students were given the opportunity of observing a Kiwanis Club meeting, enjoying lunch with them, and speaking to them on a selected subject matter.

 

 

Austin Scott Representative Austin Scott Visits WCHS

Representative Austin Scott paid a visit to students at WCHS on October 30th to share his insight about the governmental process and talk about his experiences in Washington, DC as a state representative.

WCHS Softball Team 3rd Place State WCHS Lady Rams Varsity Softball Team Finishes Best Season in School History

Congratulations to our Lady Rams Varsity softball team! Our girls finished the 2017 season as the Region 1-AAA Champions and 3rd in the GHSA Class AAA State Championship. The girls also finished with an overall 29-3 record!  This was by far the best season in WCHS’s history! We are so proud of our girls and coaches!  #RAMPRIDE #RegionChampions #ThirdinState

Auburn WCHS Social Studies Teacher Invited to Auburn University
Our American Government & Economics Teacher, Christopher Bartlett, was invited as a guest professor at Auburn University's Montgomery Campus on Thursday, September 21st.  He discussed Imperialism, its lead up to World War I, and the global issues that are still tied to it today.

Jessica Lane, WCHS Junior and winner of the 2017 Georgia High School Reader of the Year award, attended the State Superintendent's Recognition Ceremony on September 6, 2017 at the GaDOE in Atlanta.  This ceremony honored students and administrators who have achieved excellence in education during the 2016-17 school year.  We are so proud of Jessica and this huge accomplishment!

Reader of the YEar WCHS Student Wins 2017 Georgia High School Reader of the Year Award

Congratulations to Jessica Lane on winning the 2017 Georgia High School Reader of the Year Award!  Jessica is a junior at WCHS and has been invited to attend the Superintendent’s Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday, September 6th at the GaDOE in Atlanta.  This ceremony will honor students who have achieved excellence in education. We are so proud of Jessica and this huge accomplishment!

RAMS Color Run 2017 2017 RAMS Color Run

The 4th Annual Ram Color Run is going to be a fun and colorful event!  Make plans to participate on August 12th at Milt Miller Field.  All proceeds will support the 2017 Worth County Rams Football campaign.

Infinite Campus is our district-wide student information system.  The Infinite Campus Parent Portal provides parents with a fast and convenient way to check student grades, schedules, attendance, and other information.
