Attendance Matters 2017 September is Attendance Awareness Month

Attendance is essential to school success!  September 2017 is the fifth-annual Attendance Awareness Month that encourages schools and communities to remember that engagement matters for attendance.  Engagement = Attendance.  

Solar Eclipse Plan 2017 2017 Solar Eclipse Plan for Worth County Schools

The following letter is the district's Solar Eclipse Plan for August 21, 2017.  A copy will be sent home with every student this week.  Our teachers and staff will continue to educate our students on eclipse safety.  Daily announcements at each school also include eclipse safety tips. Worth County Schools will use this event as a learning opportunity with safety as our main priority.   

Career Closet WCHS Opens Career Closet

Reader of the YEar WCHS Student Wins 2017 Georgia High School Reader of the Year Award

Congratulations to Jessica Lane on winning the 2017 Georgia High School Reader of the Year Award!  Jessica is a junior at WCHS and has been invited to attend the Superintendent’s Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday, September 6th at the GaDOE in Atlanta.  This ceremony will honor students who have achieved excellence in education. We are so proud of Jessica and this huge accomplishment!

eclipse Total Solar Eclipse August 21, 2017 - Safety First For Our Students

The Earth, the sun, and the moon all orbit in space in predictable paths.  On August 21, 2017, there will be a celestial alignment of the three resulting in a solar eclipse.  The moon will move between the sun and the Earth blocking the light of the sun.  Thus, the moon will cast a shadow on the Earth.  

RAMS Color Run 2017 2017 RAMS Color Run

The 4th Annual Ram Color Run is going to be a fun and colorful event!  Make plans to participate on August 12th at Milt Miller Field.  All proceeds will support the 2017 Worth County Rams Football campaign.

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities created the following 30-second video promoting mental health awareness and reducing stigma.

"Spot the Signs. Talk About It. Get Help" encourages individuals all over the state to listen to one another, reach out, and encourage help-seeking for anyone struggling with mental or emotional issues.

GHSA Region 1-AAA WCHS WCHS Athletics Awarded All Three GHSA Region 1-AAA Athletic Awards

Worth County High School Athletics were awarded all three of the GHSA Region 1-AAA athletic awards for the 2016-2017 school year.  This is the first time since the GHSA started presenting the three awards that one school has claimed all three awards.

The New Worth College and Career Academy The New Worth College and Career Academy Bids are Approved

The Worth County Board of Education approved the bids and budget for the building of a new high school.
